Founder Kanwal Ali was born in Pakistan and came to Vancouver when she was 5 years old. Having exposure to culture, music, and style from the East and the West has given Kanwal an ability to understand beauty from different perspectives.Growing up,
Kanwal was very creative where she learned to play guitar and sing but also enjoyed playing with makeup and creating different eye looks. After high school, Kanwal completed the Business Management Diploma at Douglas College, and has since worked in several city and government jobs including working as a Finance Officer in the municipal government in the Canadian Arctic. She has a diverse range of business knowledge and job experiences, but her true passion is working in the beauty world.

During COVID, things took a turn and she decided to train at the world-renowned Blanche Macdonald school to professionally pursue the career of makeup artistry. Before graduating, she had already started getting paid makeup jobs. After graduation from Blanche MacDonald, Kanwal was working full time as an independent contractor for various makeup studios, agencies, and artists gaining experience in the wedding industry. Having done makeup and hair in countless weddings, Kanwal really understands her clients needs and delivers on their expectations, whether they want a South Asian heavy glam look or a North American soft glam look. Initially starting off as a solo artist, Kanwal has now built an agency where she has scouted for the most talented artists to join her agency.
